random-screen.jpg

From the website:

Random Screen is a mechanical thermodynamic screen that the user can’t control and that functions without any electricity. Conventional tea candles illuminate and generate the changes on the 4×4 pixel screen.
This work is one of a series of low-tech screen projects that was originally inspired by the Blinkenlights media façade of the Chaos Computer Club in Berlin. The predecessor of Random Screen is the Papierpixel project in which a manual screen was controlled by a punched tape system that had to be pre-programmed by hand. Random Screen takes the reduction of the electronics one step further. The pixels become independent and fire goes digital.

From the website:

Scubadooing means you don’t need to wear a mask or a mouthpiece as in diving, the external compressor is floating above water, and the diving weights are on the ScubaDoo, not you!

You are seated on your ScubaDoo, with your head and shoulders within a clear dome, your air constantly replenished from the external compressor, enabling you to breathe normally!

Maneuverable? You bet! At a rate of 2.5 knots you’re able to ride amongst the spectacular underwater world, or remain stationary while you feed the fish.

From the website:

Magnetoencephalography (MEG) scanners work by measuring the magnetic field produced by the brain.
